Invest in Housing and Stability as Just Relief and Recovery
Over the last two week Richmond LAND has advocated that the City of Richmond invest stimulus dollars towards addressing critical housing solutions in the face of looming economic and housing insecurity brought on by the pandemic. This requires bold programs that address the range of affordable and stable housing needs in our community. It requires that immediate relief be delivered to families most in need as well as focusing on growing the City’s Housing Division/Department to be responsive to the current and future opportunities and threats. Richmond residents deserve stable and dignified housing. We believe that if our City grows its housing capacity, it will be more capable of ensuring anti-displacement and a right to return for residents impacted by housing instability.
